A food tour is a gourmet guided tour that introduces you to local cuisine through several tastings at local artisans, shops, and/or restaurants.Alsace Food Tours offers guided food tours of approximately 3 hours in Eguisheim, one of the most beautiful villages in France and Alsace.During the tour, you will taste several Alsatian specialties while learning about the history of these products, and a bit about the village.
For your morning or afternoon food tour, your guide, Isabelle, will be waiting for you in front of the fountain on the Place du Château, in the center of the village. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of the food tour.
You can park at the Parking de la Mairie (the Town Hall car park) or Parking des Marronniers for €5 per day. Alternatively, a little further away, there is free parking near the cemetery, and le Parc du Millénaire, 800 meters from the village centre, also offers free parking spaces.
In Eguisheim, the Rue des Remparts is a cobbled and uneven alleyway, making it difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. Furthermore, some of the shops we visit require climbing a few steps. Therefore, it is preferable that you be able to walk independently.
No. Eguisheim is a small village that's easy to explore. The longest food tour is about 2.2 km (1.36 miles). We walk at a leisurely pace with plenty of tasting breaks. The tour is accessible to anyone who can travel independently.
Children aged 12 and over can participate in the food tours. However, the culinary tours are not suitable for younger children. Please note that there is no child rate. Children will pay the same price as adults as they will be tasting the same food.
Unfortunately, our four-legged friends are not allowed during the food tours in Eguisheim.
Food tours in Eguisheim by Alsace Food Tours can be conducted in French, English, and even Spanish.
This year, the food tours take place from June to September. They are held on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. You can choose between the morning food tour ("La Ronde des Saveurs") and the afternoon food tour ("Eguisheim à Croquer").
Most tastings take place indoors. If it rains, the food tour may be rescheduled, and the walk to the stork park will be canceled or postponed if it's just a light shower. However, if the weather conditions are truly severe or dangerous (thunderstorm, storm, etc.), the food tour may be canceled. In this case, we will offer you either a rescheduled tour or a refund.
